The year of Tuvalu traditionally started in November (Mulifa), and the names of the months were also unique to Tuvaluan. Today, the year starts in January as in the West, and the names of the months are loanwords from English. The celestial moon is also called masina2.
ツバル語の1年は,伝統的には11月(Mulifa)から始まり,各月の名称もツバル語固有のものだったが,今日では欧米と同じく1月(Ianuali)から始まり,名称も英語からの借用語になっている.なお,天体の月もmasina2という.
